It shares a name with the son of Poseidon, but Triton PCS Holdings is no fish out of water: It has a mighty big shark, AT&T Wireless, on its side. With PCS licenses in six US states in the Southeast, Triton PCS has launched services in 15 cities and surpassed the 100,000-subscriber mark. The first member of the AT&T Wireless Services network, it operates with two other AT&T affiliates under the regional brand name SunCom. Triton PCS uses TDMA (time division multiple access) digital wireless technology. The company markets handsets and services through company-owned retail stores, direct sales, and retailers such as Circuit City, Office Depot, Staples, and Best Buy. AT&T Wireless owns about 20% of the company
