Return to Macintosh computer clones

What do you do with an orphaned Mac clone?

I think Apple ought to have the decency to support these clones from Umax, Motorola, and Power Computing that they authorized (then changed their minds about) with new operating systems that don't crash all the time. What do you think? I got Mac OS 8.5 for my Umax J700 against advice so I could use IQCharts but it's very unstable and crashes constantly. Apple will not even talk to me about it because "OS 8.5 does not support the Umax." If you have a clone and have found a way to update the o.s., the hard drive, and the CD Rom drives successfully, I'd like to hear from you.
