Homesteaded 1850 during the Gold Rush of those days - the first cabin was built in 1850. Sunny Meadows was named after Sonny Higgins who died in W.W.II as a Captain of a Bomber in flight over Germany. Afterwards his father requested that the Ranch be named after his son.

The Sunny Meadows ranch elevation and soil content is rated of the highest quality from the Federal Department of Forestry. For this reason the Christmas Tree opportunity is ideal. We are able to plant 1600 trees per acre. Table top trees are available the second year. Cutting on the trees vary upon the growth over a five year period.
