CROs-Clinical Research Organization stocks
CROs are organizations which conduct some or all parts of clinical trials under contract for many pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device firms. In recent years they have also spread out into related areas such as toll manufacturing of pre-clinical and clinical product, telemedicine and data warehousing. Some have even acquired operating bio/med companies, blurring the line further. Regulatory requirements for drug and device registration and sale are are increasing significantly, which could spell a lot more work for these organizations. Clearly the field is evolving.
CRO stocks have been beaten down substantially in the last few years but as of late 1999 are beginning a comeback.
The purpose of this thread is to provide a forum for the discussion of CRO and related stocks, domestic and foreign.
A model portfolio of CRO stocks will be assembled and suggestions are actively solicited.
