Mathsoft (MATH) develops and sells calculation software tools and electronic books for technical professionals, educators and students. One product that is very well accepted in the marketplace is Mathcad.
Earnings are picking up momentum in the last couple of quarters. The last 4 qtrs. EPS have been -.02, -.10, .05, .06 and they are due to report soon for this last qtr. The up/down volume ratio as of one week ago was 2.8. That is usually bullish. Unusually big volume came into the stock last Friday and the stock jumped. Today the stock jumped up another 14% from yesterday's close. There has been steady insider buying over the last year, most recently in early Feb. Projected earnings are 0.15 for fiscal 1996 ending June up from a (0.50) loss in fiscal 1995. Fiscal 1997 projections are for 0.30, a 100% increase. What do you think about MATH?
