I stumbled upon Snow Leopard a couple of days ago and was intrigued by their News Release. Tuesday Jan 25 2000 Snow Leopard has received board approval for the following transactions: the purchase of shares of Ethyltech Inc., a private Alberta company developing fuel cell technology, from J.V. Lyons at his cost, which is approximately $540,000. After acquiring such shares, Snow Leopard will own approximately 60 per cent of Ethyltech.....
and
Thursday Feb 3 2000 Snow Leopard's ownership of approximately 60 per cent of the issued shares in EthylTech is expected to increase to 65 per cent pursuant to further advances. EthylTech has accepted a counter offer from Energy Canada for the purchase of all intellectual property and patents associated with liquid sulphur phase electrochemical oxidation of H2S and fuel cells.
So what has Snow Leopard got that no one else has?? Well I talked at length with Mr. Lauchlin and it appears this company has acquired the rights, equipment, and patents to Ethyltechs technology.
Fuel cells seem to be popping up everywhere now-a-days but the most intriguing part of this technology is apparently it burns Hydrogen Sulphide, which is an after product burnoff from oil wells....they are the flares that you see everywhere. I asked Mr Lauchlin about contamination of the fuel and its affect on the "PEM" like FC they have. Apparently the PEM they have developed runs at the same temp as Ballards, but can withstand the contamination levels associated with H2S with no difficulty.
No "reformer" is required as I understand it. The stock trades at .80c Canadian and the technology is not known. However, the company states that they own two working prototypes and intend on commercial production ASAP. The international patents have been applied for and are pending or approved, American/Canadian Patents have already been awarded.
So how much of this information can be substantiated at this point....Not much, but I have purchased at .73c thru .80c and have decided to hold for the longterm... The market is huge when you consider the "flaring" around the world, from an "environmental point of view, "Environmental Mutual Funds will likely get involved. From an electrical point of view, electricity can be generated from a byproduct to power the equipment that extracts the oil??
Anyway, I am no authority on the subject and will hopefully have anyone that joijns in do DD on this company, and we can all learn together....It sounds very interesting, and is in a "field" that noother PEM/SOFC is targeting??
