This thread will list the weakest and strongest stocks of the S&P 500. One way to assign a "strength" measure to a stock is to add +1 for each day the stock makes a new 52-week high and -1 for each day the stock makes a new 52-week low. Then by adding the strength of each individual stock for a fixed number of days, say 10 days, one can obtain a relative measure of the strength of each stock. The strongest stocks would have a value of 10 and the weakest stocks would have a value of -10.
For a trading strategy, one may want to go long the strongest stocks and go short the weakest stocks.
Any suggestions on different measures of strength or trading strategies are welcome. |
