Return to ANNOUNCE: Silicon Investors Group venture pool

I have heard that the majority of new issues realize up to 90% of their fully-valued market cap over the first three years following their IPO by the first or second day of the IPO. What this means to you, the small investor without any "connections", is that your return is severely constrained because of lack of clout.

That is why I believe that the members of the Silicon Investor community are in the position to seize the day in a revolutionary way. You may all be aware of the recent history-making venture that brought Spring Street Brewing Co. public over the Internet; see

cnnfn.com
and
plaza.interport.net

Therefore, I propose that the Silicon Investor members, with the help of Brad and Jeff, form the Silicon Investors Group (SIG) venture pool. With the combined talents and knowledge of our proactive community, we can harness the technology we use evey day to give us the same advantages as other venture capital groups. If only 1 percent of the members were to contribute $10,000 to join the SIG, then the SIG would have $2 million of venture capital to invest in the brightest up-and-coming tech stars.

Let's not get involved in a discussion of why it can't be done. Obviously, if Spring Street brewing can do it, then we can, too.
