August Technology's automated visual
inspection systems help chip makers improve their
production yield by finding tiny bugs. Its flagship product,
the NSX micro defect inspection system, accounts for
about 85% of sales. The company also makes systems
to verify the dimensions of wafer cassettes and inspect
semiconductor package leads. Motorola accounts for
about 10% of sales, as does August's European
distributor, Quasys. North America accounts for nearly
two-thirds of sales.
