Monday July 10, 9:55 am Eastern Time California Pizza sets IPO shares, price range WASHINGTON, July 10 (Reuters) - California Pizza Kitchen Inc. set on Monday an initial public offering at 5.3 million common shares in a range of $13-$15 each, terms that could net the restaurant chain about $68.3 million in proceeds.
The Los Angeles-based company plans to use $40 million to repay bank debt, $23.7 million due for the automatic conversion of outstanding preferred stock and the rest for general corporate purposes.
California Pizza, which originally filed a preliminary IPO prospectus in May with the Securities and Exchange Commission, disclosed the terms of the offering for the first time on Monday.
The offering is jointly managed by Banc of America Securities and Deutsche Banc Alex Brown, with an assist from Robertson Stephens. They have an option to buy 795,000 more shares should the 5.3 million shares be snapped up.
California Pizza, which has applied for a Nasdaq listing under the symbol ``CPKI'' (Nasdaq:CPKI - news), would have about 18 million common shares outstanding on completion of the IPO. |
