The 2000 election has raised the issue of whether the electoral college should be abandoned. Established with the founding of the nation, it was created to blunt the effect of a candidate or party from gaining power merely by winning densly populated areas. Hillary Clinton has proposed that the electoral college should be abandoned, with whoever wins a popular vote winning the election. This and other alternative ways of selecting leads can be discussed in this forum. We all know the system is imperfect, so let's discuss ways to improve it.
