Intel is quietly planing to release it's new "MMX" chip by the end of this year. According to early reports the chip greatly increases performance of many applications in particular graphics. It's been written that companies like Adobe stand to benefit from this chip the most. Evidently the chip makes Photoshop run faster than Mac, potentially enabling Adobe to move graphic designers to Wintel machines and greatly expand it's share of Windows market. I think it could reverse downward trend that Adobe was experiencing due to Mac's downfall. I think it's also the reason why Adobe and Intel were the only "Buy" recommendations in the last issue of Wired magazine.
