This forum is dedicated to identifying shorts.
A long term short is one that has miserable management, weak fundamentals and has a recent runup on hype etc. (3 months and up)
A medium time short is one that has run up on the announcement of an exciting new product which the market is not yet ready for or a fundamentally good company in temporary trouble or a bad company which temporarily looks good.(up to 3 months)
A short term short is a momentum stock that has shot up too much and will correct.(A couple of days)
My list: RDUS - long term short Radius has run-up on income consisting of "one time divestures." Probably a good idea to short this. When they announce a loss next quarter, it's bound to crash.
AAPL - medium term short Apple is rising a bit on IBM licencing the OS. After a while, it should fall back to early 20's
IOMG - short term short Iomega will certainly cross 70(pre-split.) The moment it does, it may be a good candidate for shorting. Personally, I'd buy back at 65ish or two days whichever is earlier. Too risky to be short for more than a couple of days.
Please add to the list. You may also post shorting strategies and your method of identifying shorts.
