Return to CD Burners Emporium

As a young music lover growing up in rural Michigan, I thought sometimes how great it would be to own as many records as a radio station. I wanted to be able to make tapes from a huge collection of stuff, putting songs together from different artists or from the same artists in different ways.

Now that it is possible to make our own CDs and to download virtually anything from the Internet (currently for free, but probably for a modest fee before too much longer), I find myself in search of ideas as to what sorts of music to put together. Some of the best ideas I have gotten were from SI members on various threads.

This thread is for talk about CD burning and music in general. I am most interested in what combinations of songs people are putting on their own CDs, what songs and/or lyrics people recommend, what sites are out there for sources or discussion about music, old and new.

Pretty much anything goes. I strongly encourage the posting of playlists that people have put onto CDs. I will post a couple of those to get things started.

Invite others along; the only criterion is good taste, defined subjectively. The thread is moderated only because, as Tom Petty once said, "It's Good to be King."
