Return to Biotech Stock Picking - 2001

Forum for the continuation of the charitable donation biotech stock picking contest started by Mike McFarland last year. Great idea. Thanks Mike.

Same rules as last year which are roughly:
(1) Contestants pledge to give to charitable cause named by winner. Please name your charity and pledge amount with your entry.
(2) Biotech/drugs/healthcare related stock picks.
(3) Entries consist of picks with company name, ticker symbols, and portfolio allocation(%). Ten to fifteen picks would seem to make a reasonable portfolio, but are not required.

Entries are due say by mid January. Performance will be calculated from year end 2000 closing prices.
(Historical data are from www.bigcharts.com except for Mike McFarland's CEN.L which is from www.ftmarketwatch.com :>))

I will report periodically on the progress of the portfolios. Depending on the administrative burden (and my skill at manipulating SI) contestants may be allowed to adjust portfolios at some time in the future.

I've put together the SI portfolios of all who have submitted picks as of today (3 Jan 2001) with the historical stock data. Let me know if there are any mistakes in my transcription. However, only the first few have had the share calculations done to bring them to a hypothetical $100,000 starting point. I'll get to them over time.
