Northland developed and now manages and operates power plants in Ontario and owns and operates a district heating plant in Ukraine with a combined total electrical generating capacity of over 400 MW and a total thermal capacity of 700 MW. Northland is responsible for the long-term reliable operation and maintenance of these projects and has a direct incentive to meet or exceed operating efficiency and performance targets.    Northland has a trained and qualified staff of over 90 allocated to operations in Canada and over 600 in its Ukrainian operations. This includes engineers, operators, electricians, mechanics, instrumentation and control technicians and administrators.   Northland places a high priority on achieving operating excellence and has implemented international best practice standards and procedures to lower production costs and increase efficiency while meeting legal and regulatory obligations in an efficient, proactive, safe and healthy manner.   As a result, Northland's gas-fired and wood-fired plants regularly achieve greater than 98% and 96% reliability, respectively.                 northlandpower.ca |
