Return to DAYTRADING/SWINGTRADING STOCKS with INTRADAY INVESTMENTS

This forum is being created to provide an online discussion area for traders interested in scalping and swing trading stocks. The three moderators/traders (Steve, Deron, and Ed) hosting this thread are the founders and General Partners of IntradayInvestments.com, a new (launched April 2001), unique online trading education center. During every trading day, you can watch us trade live in our real-time, multimedia trading room. We explain the rationale behind each trading entry/exit, and answer all questions posted throughout the trading day using live text, audio, and graphics.

Deron and Ed are professional Hedge Fund managers. Steve ("PaloAlto Trader") is a long-time Si contributor whose heritage (and trading style/tutorials) is found in his many posts on Eric's Patterson's "Daytrading Fundamentals" thread (his tutorial posts started appearing in mid-99). All three founding partners have extensive experience in real-time live trading/trading education, and through delivering short educational seminars, authoring books on short-term trading, and presenting at trading conferences (per the bios on our web site).

Why start this thread? As hedge fund managers and hands-on traders, we enjoy educating and working with other investors and traders in all the necessary aspects of stock and options trading, including money management, the psychology of trading, technical analysis, trade selection and management, etc. Each of us currently trades for a living, and we offer clients the opportunity to learn how to emulate our existing short-term trading and investing styles through our online services. As we are primarily focused on our own trading and the online service, we are not engaged in the multi-day seminar business, or 1:1 trading coaching (although the latter is delivered interactively/online daily, for the benefit of all of our customers).

In our philosophy, there is no room in an online, live trading education center for hype, front-running, or other such inappropriate and/or unethical practices that can easily be found on the Internet. If you are looking for a "get rich quick" scenario, an "ultimate" trading system, or even to just blindly follow our stock picks without understanding the reasons for your trade, then our services are definitely not for you. However, if you are looking to become a well-educated, self-sufficient trader armed with the proper psychology, technical, and risk-management skills necessary for success, then we feel you may be a good fit with us. You may even find our services to be intriguing and quite useful to your education!

In addition to regular trading tutorial posts, we'll post our trading results from our real-time scalp & swing-trade service at the end of every day, along with market commentary and trading methodology explanations. In our trading room, in addition to scrolling interactive text, we deliver audio+text commentary from 9:00AM to 4:30PM (EDT). One of the unique features of our trading room is a unique live position minder showing our open/closed positions including entry time/price, stop, target, etc - and graphics that we post throughout the trading session (usually annotated charts) as a real-time instructional tool enhancement. You can also receive our free daily trading results report update via email by signing up at our web site.

Only two hard-and-fast rules for this thread:

1. Keep it cordial please! We are friendly and accommodating to all levels/types of posts and questions regarding the intraday and overnight (swing) trading of stocks; please maintain the same kind of professional attitude. No diatribes or 'big argument exchanges', please. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, please respect it. We don't mind some playful horsing around, but... Posts that are blatantly made with a hostile and/or argumentative intention, or that clearly indicate some sort of psychological dysfunction on the part of the poster (confirmed by their posting history), will simply be ignored (yes, that means you, you trouble-makers ;).

2. Any legitimate question about our trades, trading style, or any trading matter are all fair game on this thread. However, no hyping of thinly-traded stocks! We avoid discussing or trading stocks with an average daily share volume below 400,000 shares. Discussion of legitimate stocks is OK if it relates to a legitimate analysis question, but DO NOT come here to run your pump-and-dump operations. Keep in mind SI has to comply with legal requests (e.g., subpoenas from the SEC), and besides, the other inmates will be so disappointed in you for your poor judgement;)

We hope you find this thread to be useful!
