Welcome to The Short Story Laboratory.
It's time to unlock your mind and let your imagination run wild. Dim the lights in your room. Then sit down and allow your mind to wander. What do you see? Put it in writing. It's easy as that.
The purpose of this thread is to provide a canvas for those who would like to paint a beautiful picture of words. It is meant for anyone and everyone who has a thought locked up inside them. You'll be amazed how quickly stress is released as the words begin flowing from your finger tips, through the keyboard and out into cyber space for others to enjoy.
Many say a picture is worth a thousand words. I believe that 1000 words constructed the right way can say so much more than one single picture.
Let's see how many wonderful pictures of words we can create.
Don't be embarrassed. Everyone has a story locked up inside them. Feel free to paint a little of it here each day.
There are only a couple of rules:
1) When beginning a new story, please reply to this orginal post. Then, with each new installment, reply to the most recent installment to that story. This way it will be much easier to trace backwards to the beginning.
2) In general, posts containing compliments or appreciation are allowed but Please do not use this thread for chit chat. If you would like to suggest a topic to write about, please do so.
3) Proper spelling and grammar does not count. If you don't feeling like correcting all 25-100 errors after writing all that time, then don't. We will pretend it's written correctly. Life is too short to spend too much time correcting your writing.
4) Freedom of speech is guaranteed as it relates to SI's TOU. Therefore, please be warned that subject matter is open to what ever the author wants it to be. Some installments may contain harsh language or subject matter that some may find offensive. If you find something offensive, please exercise your right to ignore that person or series of posts.
5) Stories may be as long or as short as you want them to be. You don't even have to finish them. If you come up with another idea to write about, then run with it. You can alway go back and add onto your older stories in the future.
6) NonFiction is also allowed. Truth is often stranger than fiction.
This is a moderated forum only as an effort to prevent SPAM, mindless chatter, and unwanted fighting.
I invite you to share what ever it is on your mind.
Sit back, crack your knuckles and begin hitting those keys staring up at you. You will surprise yourself with what comes out. Those are the keys to your soul. See what doors they unlock.
