As a moderate I praise Jeffords move from the conservative republican party. As the republicans move more to the right wing I would not be surprised to see a few more members of congress make the switch also as happened to the democrats when they moved too far to the left last decade. The republicans better change their conservative policies soon since the last time I checked there is not enough votes or voters in the south or midwest to carry them in 2002. This is the proof to all moderates that the Republican party is no longer currently for us. The balls now in the democrats court to see if they can convince us to join them or if we will stay independent of either party.
