All are welcome... here are the rules:
Just say up or down for any or all of the three major averages, DOW, SP's, and NAZ... your call is good for the next week only... you can call one, two, or all three markets... for each market called you win one point for being right, you lose one point for being wrong... therefore, you can win or lose as many as three points a week... for example, you can call the DOW and the SP to be up and the NAZ to be down, or however you see fit to call them... you will be playing against a flip of the coin each week, who knows, maybe a flip of the coin may turn out to be the best way to trade... put your egos aside, this is all for fun and laughs.....
Each game will run for the month and the prize for the monthly winner will be the annotation, notoriety and approbation of having recognition on this thread head:
The winner for the weekly calls for the month of January 2002 is: Rich1 with Gao in 2nd place and GZ, Bill and (of course) the Coin tied for 3rd place! Congratulations!
The winner for the weekly calls for the month of February 2002 is: JXM and SPUD with Rich1 in 2nd place and AGAIN tied for 3rd... Bill and the Coin! Congratulations!
The winner for the weekly calls for the month of March 2002 is: Bill (oooops) with Coin in 2nd place and At_the_Ask, ATG and Spud tied for 3rd! Congratulations!
A new game begins every month... I will pick the exact dates for each game.
You don't have to play every week, you can pick your weeks, the more you play the more your chance to gain and/or lose points...
Post all your calls directly to me, not to yourself or to any other poster... there is no need to justify your calls, this is not a serious contest for gurus, this is only to be a fun game for friends...
Here's how to enter your call each week:
(your name, market, up or down in the order of DOW, SP, then NAZ)
SAMPLE:
Bill, DOW up, SP down, NAZ down (pick one, two, or all three, whatever you feel that week)
I'll keep score... if there are any disputes, I'll make the final determination regarding that dispute...
Important Note:
All calls for the following market week must be posted to me prior to the opening of the Monday session unless Monday is a holiday in which case it is the Tuesday session, that is to say, your post must be time stamped on your SI post on or before 9:30 am Monday each week for your call(s) to be entered for that week... simply said, each week's calls must be posted by 9:30 am each Monday.....
The first contest will begin on Monday, December 31st and end on Friday, January 25th. I will be using the following links to determine what the markets did:
