Adolor(ADLR) is an un-recognized biotech(IMO)that is working in the area of pain and gastrointestinal problems for peope undergoing abdominal surgery. Often patients undergoing surgery, they end of with bowel dysfunction because of the opiods use to control the pain.
ADLR has a drug(Alvimopan) that is Phase III testing for two major indications: post operative ilius and chronic opioid-induced bowel dysfunction. They have formed an alliance with Glaxo for this drug. Initial Phase III results should be out in the 1Q of 2003.
