I felt compelled to start this group and moderate it after being overrun by ill-mannered people intent on causing trouble with continual off-topic political discussions on the alt.sports.baseball.atlanta-braves newsgroup in USENET.
Also, I don't mind normal off-topic banter and casual conversations as long as the subject stays primarily centered around the Braves. The one thing deemed UNFORGIVABLE in this group is the posting of political messages or pointed off-topic non-sense. There are plenty of groups for politics, theology, debates about the Middle East, and philosophy elsewhere. Find them.
