Spun off from Adaptec in May of 2001 with a portfolio of CD burning and music catalog database products and patents, Roxio is starting to look hot. Having purchased the Napster name and assets at a fire sale, Roxio just teamed up with Samsung on a Napster-branded portable media player. Even Sony owns a chunk of Roxio. Napster 2.0 is "coming soon" and early word is that the web site, which has received pre-reviews as being superior to Apple's iTunes is going to rock.

Roxio also sells photo and video editing products.

Today ROXI gained 25%, closing at 10.46, a 52 week high.
