6/3/96 Innovex - EchoSearch -2-: Improves Search Speed, Accuracy
HOPKINS, Minn. (Dow Jones)--Innovex Inc. (INVX) has introduced
EchoSearch, a desktop-based search engine tool for browsers of
the Web that improves the speed and accuracy of their searches.
EchoSearch, which will be available July 1, is ideal for all
users searching the Internet or a corporate Intranet for
information, Innovex said in a press release.
Making use of Java's multi-threading capabilities, EchoSearch
enables users to simultaneously query multiple search engines.
EchoSearch features an intelligent back-end that can index and
accurately summarize the documents that are gathered in response
to the query, Innovex said.
Once the complete hit list has been built, EchoSearch again
uses Java's multi-threading capabilities to simultaneously
download the documents and to process them linguistically,
extracting the important phrases and ideas. The resulting
indexes and summaries are then matched against the user's
original query and the user is presented with a condensed view
that contains only the most relevant entries. These entries are
then hyperlinked to their occurrences in the original documents.
After viewing search results, a user has the option of
refining the original search by returning to the EchoSearch
interface and clicking on the 'Refine Search' button. When this
alternative is selected, the program then displays another
subset view of the refined query on the initial global views
(documents/hits that were found the first time), the company
said.

6/7/96 =Innovex Up 2nd Day; Award For New Product Cited >INVX
NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--Shares of Innovex Inc. (INVX) rose 4.9%
when it was announced that the company's new product won a best
of show award at the spring Comdex computer industry trade show,
one analyst said.
The stock has been strong most of the week since the product
was introduced Monday, said Summit Investment Corp. analyst Mark
D. Bystrom.
Innovex introduced on Monday its EchoSearch, software that can
simultaneously query multiple Internet search engines and
summarize documents found. Bystrom said investors were
encouraged by the Comdex award.
The shares were ahead 1 at 21 1/4 on Nasdaq volume of 324,800.
Average daily volume is 103,200. For the week, the shares are
ahead 23%. Yesterday the stock gained 7/8.
As reported earlier, JW Charles Securities initiated coverage
of the stock with a buy rating.
