Khabarovskenergo JSC is the monopoly producer of electricity and heat in the Khabarovsk Krai established in 1993. The company is a successor of the former regional energy department. It owns and operates heat electric generating plants, power-distributing networks, up to 220 kW, trunk heat runs at the industrial centers, and other installations. In 1993, power lines and transformer substations of 500 kW voltage in the Krai were transferred to it from RAO EES Rossii. The power stations in the southern part of the Krai are switched to Vostok Unified Energy System operating the grid within the Russian Far Eastern Zone. Only the Nikolaevsk Heat and Electric Power Generating Plant operates in an isolated mode.

Khabarovskenergo involves 22 enterprises including nine power generating stations, four electric network enterprises, three large heating boiler-houses, two thermal network enterprises, and three repairing shops as well as Energosbyt, Energonaladka, Energotorg, and a trucking company. The capacity of Khabarovskenergo is estimated at 2,153 megawatt and thermal power - 8,367 megawatt. Khabarovskenergo's grid includes a 9,322.6 miles electric main on all voltage levels and a 248.6 miles heating main. 220/500 kW electric mains link the Khabarovsk Krai with the Amur Oblast and 110/220 kW electric mains with the Primorski Krai.
