Pentair, Inc. is primarily engaged in industrial manufacturing. The Company comprises two operating segments: Water and Enclosures. The Water Group provides products and systems used in the movement, treatment, storage and enjoyment of water. The Enclosures Group designs and manufactures standard, modified and custom enclosures that house and protect sensitive electronics and electrical components. The Water Group offers products and systems to multiple markets and customers. The Company focuses on three markets: pump, pool and spa, and filtration. The Water Group distributes its products through wholesale distributors, retail distributors, original equipment manufacturers and home centers. Effective July 31, 2004, the Company completed the acquisition of WICOR, Inc. (WICOR) from Wisconsin Energy Corporation. WICOR manufactures water systems, filtration and pool equipment marketed primarily under the STA-RITE, SHURflo and Hypro brands.
