It also offers other small precision brushless DC motors for use in continuous-duty applications, such as CD-ROM drives, CD-read/write, DVD drives, high-capacity floppy disk drives; and office equipment, including facsimile machines, laser printers, and photocopy machines. In addition, NIDEC provides brushless DC fans, which are incorporated in computers, game consoles, and other electronic equipment to disperse heat and lower the temperature of critical components; mid-size brushless DC motors used in household appliances, automobiles, and industrial equipment; machinery; and electric and optical components. The company was founded by Shigenobu Nagamori in 1973. It was formerly known as Nihon Densan Kabushiki Kaisha. NIDEC is headquartered in Kyoto, Japan. |
