FCStone operates in four segments: Commodity and Risk Management Services, Clearing and Execution Services, Grain Merchandising, and Financial Services. Commodity and Risk Management Services segment offers commodity consulting services to its customers with an emphasis on risk management using futures, options, and other derivative instruments. Clearing and Execution Services segment provide economical clearing and execution of exchange-traded futures and options for the institutional and professional trader market segments. Grain Merchandising segment serves as a financing vehicle for various commodities, including grain, energy products, and renewable fuels and enables elevators and grain marketers maximize the value of their grain by locating domestic and international buyers. Financial Services segment serves as a grain financing and facilitation business through which it lends to commercial grain-related companies against physical grain inventories. This segment also serves as a financing vehicle for a number of different commodities, including grain, energy products, and renewable fuels. FCStone Group was founded in 1968 and is headquartered in West Des Moines, Iowa.
