Business Description
Oro Gold is a gold exploration company founded in 2005. Oro's initial focus was on acquiring properties with significant potential in Mexico and Central America. The company is now focusing on the Trinidad District in Sinaloa, Mexico with a drill program underway at Taunus and an exploration program being initiated at El Habal. The Taunus Zone was the site of an open-pit mine and currently has an NI 43-101 compliant inferred resource of 200,930 ounces. Oro has a near-term goal of building that to 1MM ounces.
Overview
* Management - The key personnel at Oro Gold have a long history of working together to bring deposits into production for Placer Dome.
* Properties - The company has secured a significant land position in a highly-prospective area of Mexico that has seen historic mining and has excellent access to infrastructure. Recent high-grade drill results from the Taunus Zone have confirmed the multi-million ounce potential there.
* In July 2009, the company closed a $12MM private placement. This funding is enabling the company to aggressively pursue their exploration program for the foreseeable future.
Advanced Projects
Trinidad District- A primary focus within the Trinidad District has been the Taunus Zone. Prior drill results from Taunus include:
* 8.5 g/t gold over 61.0 metres in diamond drill hole 08TR012
* 7.6 g/t gold over 42.5 metres in diamond drill hole 09TR015
* 3.4 g/t gold over 60.6 metres in diamond drill hole 09TR016, including 5.2 g/t gold over 36.5 metres
* 6.3 g/t gold over 30.0 metres in diamond drill hole 09TR019, including 17.6 g/t gold over 4.5 metres
* 8.6 g/t gold over 20.9 metres in diamond drill hole 09TR022, including 17.4 g/t gold over 10.1 metres
Recently it was announced that exploration activities have begun at the El Habal property, which is directly to the west of the Trinidad District project. Historical drilling includes one hole of 300 metres averaging 1.0 g/t gold (non 43-101).
