This thread is devoted to picking stocks for January 2011, and general discussion of the January Effect.

I began starting threads like these in 1999, but I took a two-year hiatus, with no threads for January 2009 or 2010. That's because the market conditions didn't favor tax-loss selling by retail investors in the preceding December. I think that this December might be different.
