Kandi is a Chinese company that is developing a rent-rather-than-own car model along the lines of Zipcar. It has a very small market cap of about $420m, which has risen sharply in just the past month as its story has become more widely known and is fluctuating wildly as it has become a speculator's dream in recent days. With revenue of about $70m, 37m shares, cash of about $12m and $62m of debt, it is a very high risk, high reward company. However, to be clear: I am not recommending buying this company right now, I am currently more interested in its visionary business model, although it may turn out to be a great buy and hold over a long period of time.
