Purpose of this board is to trade and identify all companies that will be involved in Small Modular Reactors (SMRs) as they approach mainstream.
Graphite Participants Identified so far -There are 2 types of Graphite that will participate in SMRs they are Lump, and Synthetic.
Purity is still the key to any new technology including SMRs
The purest Natural graphite known to man is a small company by the name of Canada Carbon V.CCB. The Graphite is "Lump". The purity is 99.9998% and has a Equivalent Boron Content (EBC) of .90 parts per million. It is now the Certified Reference Material (CRM) for Natural Graphite and Small Modular Reactors or SMRs.
The Closest rival to this purity is Synthetic Graphite. The purest Synthetic (NG18) is 500 parts per million Equivalent Boron Content. This synthetic is presently being used for the development of SMRs as well as the newer experimental SMR cooled by Molten Salt in places like Atomic City in Utah.
The present known "mixture" of Synthetic/Natural is 60/40 for coating the uranium pebbles.
