One of the strongest stocks in the high tech segment is Pairgain,
which uses HDSL technology to boost performance of existing copper
communications lines today's high speeds. But Amati Communications
is much stronger! Amati has patents on a competing solution, ADSL,
which boasts speeds of 8 megabytes per second. It should be available
to the market late this year and the relative performance me it is
going to be a big success. With GTE are planning to provide the high
speed of ADSL service to residential at approximately $30.00/month
( no bargain here)and Swiss Telecom are on the table for a contract.
Amati's products are holding both American & European's standards.

said, ADSL is the short term technology for residential and
one expert said : "short term for the next 40 years". And many
observed that AMTX is the next Cascade Communications or The
