THQ, Inc. develops and publishes interactive entertainment software for a variety of platforms including Nintendo, Sony, Sega, and pc cdrom. They are currently one of the most undervalued of the video game industry trading at about 1/2 of revenues and 14 times expected 1996 earnings per first call. J. Steinberg of Individual Investor Magazine owns approximately 15% of the outstanding shares.
THQ had the number 1 gameboy game in the month of June with Disney's Toy Story and has the license for Disney' Pochahontas and Pinnochio games. THQ also has licensed to do 4 EA sports titles for SNES along with 5 next generation titles including Alone in the Dark and Robo Pit for Sony Playstation and Sega Saturn and Floating Runner for Sony Playstation. THQ in addition has licensed with Turner to do WCW Wrestling for Sony, Sega, and the new Nintendo 64 to be released September 30, 1996.
First Call is expecting 35 cents per share in 1996 and THQ currently only has 4.7 million shares outstanding. They recently acquired a 25% interest in Inland Productions and 100% of Heliotrope. |
