For months I have bounced between dozens of the most popular free web sites in search of a reliable source for investment information. Many have quote services which are inaccurate or often out of service. Others are too slow or do not have complete information. And I am talking about the big guys too: CNNfn, WSJ, QuoteCom, etc. The WSJ Interactive has timely news briefs and press releases on its Briefing Book page, but it is very slow and now there is a charge to access it. The most common problem I've run into is getting timely notification of a press release or newswire story on the company I am monitoring. My dream page would be a customizable portfolio that had all the important stock trading activity, as well as important info like PE, 52-week high/low, earnings/per share, next quarterly earnings report due date, median analyst estimates, etc., and most importantly, an alert that would indicate a new press release or earnings report. I would gladly pay for such a service if I knew it was reliable. Does such a site exist? |
