Vulcan Minerals is a small junior exploration company trading on the Alberta exchange. The Canadian Speculator has recently put a buy recommendation on them at .50 cents. Stock has been steady at .45-.50 for some time. Announced yesterday that they are drilling a hole for oil on the West Coast of Newfoundland where Hunt Oil and Pan Canadian have been snooping around for a couple of years. The area was drilled for a gypsum quarry in the 1950's and the hole bottomed out in oil. One of the the nice things about Vulcan is they were on the ground in Labrador at the same time as DFR and staked piles of claims that they optioned to many companies up there. They have net smelter royalty agreements with half a dozen companies in the Voiseys Bay area. But the real exciting thing, I believe, is the potentially huge titanium discovery they have made near Goose Bay, Labrador. The deposit is readily accessible and could be humongous. They also have claims in sothern Newfoundland in the same structures that Royal Oaks Hope Brook mine is, as well as claims in the Baie Verte gold belt next door to a producing gold mine. There is a small float and very little downside. Do your due diligence and call the company. Press releases can be found on the net. The president is very approachable and straight-shooter.
