Albert, as far as I've heard Iomega has sold 5 times as many Zips as
Syquest has sold EZ135's. And, if you check the sell through in your
local Comp-USA or Computer City store, you'll see EZ135's setting
there, and Zips selling out in a week or so after they are put on the
shelves. The only items selling almost as fast as the Zip are the HP
color printers. Also, Iomega has doubled production and will double
it again in Q4. If I have my information right Seiko Epson is now
also helping them meet the unprecenented demand for their ZIPs. As
far as hard drive prces coming down and that affecting the demand for
Zips. Maybe, but I don't think so. How many hard drives can you put
into your computer. I work in the printing/graphics industry. One image
can easily be over 20megs, a job 100+ megs. Zips are ideal for sneaker
net. Tapes are slow and sequential. EZ's are fragile. Optical is expensive
and slow. My feeling is, Zip is the floppy of the future, Jazz is the
hard drive of the future. Ideal for video capture.

My humble opinion.
