Walker builds financial and accounting solutions for the high end corporate market. Generally, the goal of its products is to provide an interactive interface to mission critical, mainframe based financial data. Wallker's product suites provide online analytical processing (OLAP), decision suppport, data warehousing, general accounting applications and so forth. These suites utilize three tier C/S architectures, install GUI's on executive desktops, and are generally quite modern in their look, feel, and execution. WALK gets to play in a marketplace virtually abandonned by other vendors. They sell to the company wanting to improve work processes without writing off investments in mainframe servers and data stores. WALK has very close ties with IBM; WALK's CEO Leornard Liu was a long time senior exec at IBM.
