Hi Mohan--a couple more The shorter the time-frame of your trading strategy, the greater the need for a system so that you don't make emotional decisions. For example, if one decides to day-trade, a trading system with formalized entry and exit rules are even more vital than if one trades on intermediate term basis. When trading--as opposed to investing--NEVER average down; the only possible exception is if your original plan was to take a partial position at a certain price and then complete the position at a lower level. BTW--all these are rules that I follow or at least try to follow:) And all were learned the hard way:(
