I made this post back in August of 2015 about my experiences trying to run updates on my iMac running Windows 7 in a Boot Camp partition:

I recall sometime later, I'd waited about six months between boot ups into Windows 7, so of course there were many, many updates needed. I had to let it run overnight. Some of the updates failed to install properly, so Windows did a system restore to an earlier state. What complete garbage!

I finally decided to blow away the Windows 7 Boot Camp partition and reclaim the 300GB I'd allotted to it since I hardly used it and it had become a frustrating experience when I did.

I've decided to run any version of Windows only in a virtual machine on any Macs I own from now on.

Say what you will about macOS or Macs, but I've never experienced anything so goofy with OS updates on that platform than I have with Windows.
