Data from the Stockcharts chart I posted before and am posting here again, below. GLD volume was 0 on Nov. 17 and 5.992 million on Nov. 18, so I am assuming Nov. 18, 2004 was the IPO date.

Gap down:
Dec. 7, 2004 O: 45.30 H: 45.32 L: 45.07 C: 45.11
Dec. 8, 2004 O: 43.80 H: 44.02 L: 43.35 C: 44.01

That is a $1.05 gap between the Dec. 7 low and the Dec. 8 high 20 days after the IPO. What is your definition of a gap down? This is becoming extremely tedious.

If you need to confirm this, click the annotate link under the chart. The chart will open in a new window and placing the cursor on any daily candle will give the OHLC data for that day. The gap is very obvious on the chart.
