if copperwire would be dead what do you think the value of aware would be? I have not examined the company close enough to estimate it but I suspect it will suffer.(AMTX, of cuarse, will be dead in that case)
Wavelets?
Thaey are my favorites but lets face it that they are not accepted as they desrve to be and no one knows if it would ever happen. They were out there since 80's and in early 90's there have developed pretty nice algorithms but jpeg won nontheless. I have some exposure to wvelets at my work (modeling -- linear systems) and I see benefits but I also see limitations. Wavelets has to become standard in order to be usefull but standardising them, IMHO, would kill the purpose of being application specific.
well amtx is down and awre is up, that proves you to be right for now.
