Hello folks I just spoke with George Gray (product development head) at Sedona - for about 20 minutes. Quite lucky to get him at his desk again - he was very surprised also. George doesn't make sales - he makes presentations - he is big in NIMA - does the partnership stuff with Oracle and other companies, is responsible for oversight and input into submissions on standards and other RFP's. They are one of a couple Oracle beta test sites - it is a small community - they still work with D of Defense - only now they get a bigger piece because the gov. no longer gives the D of D a budget to do this mapping stuff on their own. Oracle will be coming out with a release in the next few months 7.33 and 8?- of which Sedona stuff will be a major part. There is also a great demand for Hipsography data - which Sedona shines in as a result of Ohio State stuff. George went over several other big things in the fire - that I couldn't write fast enough to keep up with. These guys have so many irons in the fire - and all of them hot - that I don't believe Mulshine or other PR guys could explain it all to us in layman terms. I pointed that out to Gray - and he spoke about practical implementation of GIS technology in our daily lives. He spoke about Oracle's commercials in the Super Bowl - and how all of the images were map based - instead of text - and how this evolution of data presentation would barnstorm the commercial world in the next 18 months - not revolutionary - just easy evolutionary - and Sedona is right there. He is gratified over the emergence of Sedona in the last year -from a company for which people asked who?? to a company where people walk up to him at NIMA and GIS and go wow!- so that's what you do. This guy exudes a confidence about where they are and where they are going - from a technological side - that is completely removed from any interest in the stock value - and it is extraordinarily refreshing - and reassuring.
