There was an interesting exchange with Elon Musk at the cabinet meeting just now. Trump thanked Musk for all that he had done but added, “At some point I guess he wants to get back home to his cars.” Trump said that Musk was welcome to “stay as long as you want,” and the cabinet members burst into applause. Musk beamed and said that it had been “an honor to work with your incredible cabinet, thank you everyone.” The whole moment had the air of a farewell send-off.
