Mr. Andre Audet reports
MAJESCOR RESOURCES INC. - WEMINDJI PROJECT UPDATE
Majescor Resources has received results from a minibulk sample collected from a kimberlitic sill on its 100-per-cent-owned Wemindji project. Although no diamonds greater than 0.85 millimetre were recovered from 8.5 tons of kimberlite, two microdiamonds were extracted from caustic dilution of 190 kilograms of kimberlite. The largest of the two stones is a white, cloudy, very pitted, octahedral diamond, 0.60 millimetre by 0.58 millimetre by 0.46 millimetre in dimension, and the second stone is a white, frosted, fractured etched macle, 0.44 millimetre by 0.34 millimetre by 0.08 millimetre in dimension. The sample was processed at the Saskatchewan Research Council with excellent tracer recovery results and the recovery of abundant kimberlitic indicator minerals including chrome pyrope, chrome diopside, eclogitic garnet, picroilmenite and chromite.
Recovery and analysis of the indicator minerals is currently in process at Mineral Services laboratory in South Africa. The work will include the dating and analysis of trace elements on selected garnets in order to characterize the kimberlite and its conditions at the time of its formation. This modelling will assist with comparisons with other kimberlites in the area.
Additional sampling (pitting) of other targets is under way at Wemindji. The program is designed to delineate distinct dispersion trains from six other hot spots that already exhibit characteristics indicative of being proximal to kimberlite sources. The mineral chemistry and assemblages of these new targets are different from the recent bulk sample and therefore represents different kimberlitic source rocks. The areas will receive detailed ground geophysics in the late fall prior to drilling.
A campaign of glacial sediment sampling is also in progress at Wemindji to increase sample density and locate additional hot spots.
