Yet another reason to adopt distributed generation a la Fuel Cell Energy FCEL and solar powered lights a la Carmanah. Imagine airports with runway, taxiway lights, all solar and fuel cell power for communications and basic lights inside airport buildings. The airport is then safe from any power outage without the need for backup diesel generators that take some time to kick in. Imagine coming in to land as the lights go out.
