No, apparently its composed largely of Arabs from other countries - including Saudi Arabia and Syria. The meme that AQ in Iraq and elsewhere are different is just made up to justify your wish to retreat from fighting them. why would the real AQ choose to confront a superior military force in Iraq (us) rather than coming directly to the soft underbelly of the US. Sounds stupid to me. Iraq has great symbolic significance as the home of the original caliphate which they want to reestablish. If you and your allies are victorious, they will win an enormously important victory in Iraq. They can claim to have driven America out of Iraq. This prestige will be priceless.
