I often wonder if statements like this aren't the result of someone doing their best to show off their intellect to make them feel better about themselves. It's like the other day, I was watching a program where a Dr. had an explanation that went like this:

"We do our best to minimize the financial consideration for those who don't have the wherewithal to have the procedure performed."

Geez, why don't you just say,

"We give a discount"

People who complicate the simple make me want to point and laugh.
