arun: But did the end-users ask for Cisco routers? How did Cisco become successful?

Have you seen what is happening to the sustainability of Cisco's margins lately?

Cisco became initially successful the same way Q! is initially successful.

But this is not the same as ultimately successful and the game is not over. We should watch both Cisco and Q! together, because they both appear to be on the path of suffering a similar fate.

AMAT has good margins. But note that it's PE is a mere 20. And unstable. Which is pricing itself far less far into the future.

Note that Nortel & LU were the only significant suppliers in North America of digital switching equipment. Twenty years later it's obsolete. And yet this is half of the timeframe in which Q and Cisco must maintain their dominance in order to justify the price of a slice.

When a stock is priced for so many times earnings, it's priced for a great many years into the future. All I'm saying is "watch out" because it's not automatic that it's sustainable. Despite the fact that it may exist today.

John.
