The contrast between Canada and Mexico is very striking. I haven't been in any of the larger cities in Canada, but the parts I have been in (New Brunswick and Nova Scotia) are very much like the US but more like the US a few decades ago than now. Very clean, much less complicated.

In Mexico, you see chickens walking around in roadside restaurants, leaving droppings on the floor, and dogs with fleas, scratching and getting fur all over the floor. Butcher shops have flies that land on the meat. Incomprehensible. It's a beautiful land, and the people are intelligent, but so backward.
